The focus of my landscape paintings is to bring to the foreground the detail of nature from a contemporary perspective. I do that by changing the viewer’s perspective so that one sees nature in its natural form with my interpretive twist. My emphasis is on the negative and positive shapes and the complicated detail of natural forms. I see and feel both realistic and abstract impressions when I paint my massive trees. Contrasting their strong bulk is the delicate play of fluttering leaves against the crisp sky.
